Javier Jara

Founding and Managing Partner


Javier have 20+ years of experience in the Natural Resource sector in Chile and the rest of Latam, time over which he has gathered significant knowledge and experience both in executive positions as well as consultant.

He has led teams in both private and public sector, with excellent track record on his undertakings. He has led Chile mining regulator twice in 10 years. He’s been awarded with several scholarships in the United Kingdom, including the twofold funding provided by Chevening and Rio Tinto; he’s Fellow of the Charted Institute of Arbitrators in London and Member of the Association for Petroleum Negotiator in Houston.

He’s been teacher on Mining Business for Postgraduates at Universidad Adolfo Ibañez.

Top ten of his class, graduated with honours, and recongnised by the industry several times, Javier is an attorney at law, LL.M. in Mineral Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, in the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, and Diploma on Taxation.

He’s fluent in Spanish, his mother tongue, English and French.

Jonathan Castillo

Partner


Jonathan Castillo holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Santiago de Chile. He has over twelve years of experience managing and developing R&D project portfolios for the mining and other industries. His recent focus has been on Green Mining projects focused on the application and uses of hydrogen in mining. He has developed projects in Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, and the United States, all implemented in Chile.

Among his studies, he is a graduate of MIT’s Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program and holds a Diploma in Management, Innovation, and Technology from the same institution.

He was most recently the Manager of the National High-Level Mining Program, a public-private platform that promotes the development of open innovation in the mining industry.
